Looking for cheep dump trailer for my pond project. CMI six foot one ton with factory hand pump dump kit, less wood delivered is $682. With a dump angle of 40 degrees I have no idea what to expect.

For dumping dirt you will need 45 degrees plus. Loose material will dump at 40 degrees but not consistently. A true dump truck dumps at an angle of 60 degrees and even then they use a vibrator to expel sticking material. This has always been a gripe of mine for "dump trailers". Try looking for a used hydraulic dump trailer w/a deep cycle 12V battery for power.

If your pond involves dumping clay you need LOTS of angle. You will get tired of a hand pump REAL quick. Sorry....

Best to spend the extra dollars for a 12V power hydraulic operated dump trailer. It'll pay for it's self in the long run and once you've finished the pond, you could sell it for almost what you've paid.
If you go with the hand pump, have your do-it-yourself heart surgery kit handy, because you're likely to have a heart attack. I'd try to rent a dump trailer. I find the amount I use mine doesn't justify the cost. You need a pretty steep angle to get dirt out, gravel and mulch are easier.
