I don't often review Craigslist but decided to look for a PHD and to my surprise there's the hidden jewel. An almost new Brush Hog 2103 with 6", 9" and 12" auger and it gets better it has the hydraulic down force and parking options. Well being 11pm I ask the wife to call first thing in the AM and I would call her from work on my first break. The day before the seller expanded his advertisement and got a call the day I spotted it, Of course I knew its was gone when I heard this. The seller called back and said that in fact he sold it. I was sick this jewel went for $1000, I'll be checking Craigslist a little more often now

Some people are addicted to Ebay, others Craigslist. I am the latter. It is a dangerous website.

I happen to be addicted to craigslist myself! :) I found my tractor there, as well as my bush hog and landscape rake. Looking for a larger disc harrow now. The deals are out there if you keep checking it, you just have to act fast on ones that you know are great deals.

I'd hesitate to call either "dangerous", but there are a few unscrupulous types that frequent both. I'm thinking the percentage of "crooks" vs legit sellers/buyers isn't any different than other forms of private sale. I've ran on to cons in newspaper classifieds, ect... ebay and craigslist simply have a LOT of adds, so a small percentage is still a significant number.

That said, anything that appears too good to be true usually is.

I've bought and sold a LOT of stuff via ebay and craigslist. Found a few bargains too.

I just wish I had the extra money to play with right now......... I've seen some very good deals on stuff I 'need' lately.

Any good deals are gone within the first couple hours.Apparently, there are quite a few of us who are addicted to CL.:D

I just got a good deal last night....... a couple big granite slabs (steps). Free...... just had to be able to move them.

Now what are you going to do with those? I knew a guy who used to go to a tombstone manufacturer and get big peices as apparently tomb stones can break apart in manufacturing. He was a sculpture and did really cool smaller projects with the big thick pieces.

As for calling CL Dangerous, I really meant it about how much it can cost you, both in time and money, not on risking of your life or being taken. I think Darwin plays heavily if either of the latter happen to you on CL.

"dangerous" to the bank account :D:D I really don't need another attachment, at least that's what my wife says... I picked up a 5' spike roller for $100... to go with the $60 4' spike roll that came with a free 5' Rear blade. We get a fair share of deals around here.

If I have any loose money CL is a bad place for me to be. However I did pick up my 7' Bush Hog BX84 box blade there for $500, looked brand new. If I could find some good, free stuff, like Ductape did, maybe I would be "allowed" to look more often.
