Gents,
Just when I thought I was through with my attachment acquisition operations, my wife has informed me that she would like a garden every spring IOT plant her favorite veggies. I've decided to go with a PTO driven tiller behind my baby bota and am hoping for some valuable feedback from you all as to the best choice in regards to pricing, dependability and durability. Also, what else could tillers be used for ? Thanks in advance.

1. Landpride 42" RTR05 - $1509 (Kubota dealer)

2. Countyline 48" 2122654 - $1229 (tractor supply store)

3. Kingcutter 42" model unknown - $1289 (Orchlands)

If the King Kutter is a KKII I would go with that. They are pretty rugged and parts should be no problem

The "Countyline" @ TSC is in all actuallity a King Kutter II in disguise.

The King Kutter 42" is a lighter model (NOT a KKII) and doesn't come quite as highly regarded as the KKII.

Landpride is no slouch by any means, but the KKII is, IMHO, as good of a tiller as anyone would ever need. I've hammered the living daylights out of my KKII 6'er for the better part of 8 years. It hasn't flinched. I'm NOT what you'd call a King Kutter advocate in general, but their tillers are a tough act to beat, ESPECIALLY for the price.

When I had my 2005 Kubota B7510HST, my rototiller was a used 48" Yanmar RS1200 ($300 at my local grey market tractor dealer).

If the ground is dry and hard, I hit it first with the middle buster plow ($150 from Tractor Supply) and then rototill.

If you're on a budget, this is one inexpensive way to go.

That Landpride model is Reverse Rotation model...without a doubt that would be my choice with the pricing being that close....I have a "normal" rotation model and I love the way it works in reverse...wish mine was a reverse model...

If the land pride is only a few hundred $ I would go with that. I had priced a 6' reverse rotation LP and it was 3600 vs 1800 for a KKII

Probably the KingKutter. They make durable implements for a good price. When you get your tiller, take pictures!

You guys are not making this an easy decision. I was hoping to hear that one tiller stood out in front of the rest or one brand is absolutely junk and I should stay away from that brand but it sounds as though all three brands would be OK.

Johndeere3720,
Yes I will post some pics when I make the purchase.

SCDolphin,
All three are very close in price which is making this decision even harder.

MtnViewRanch,
I'll give CCM a call today for pricing. Johnson City is only six hours away from FLW. Could be worth the trip.

Spudland_Dave,
I thought all tillers were reverse rotation which is what I prefer most because they are most effective. Are the countyline and kingcutter brands foward motion ?

flusher,
Your knowledge is superior and I've followed your advice in the past but I think I want to purchase "new" as opposed to "used." How's that sexy MF coming along by the way ?

Farmwithjunk,
I'll go back to Orchlands today and get more details on the kingcutter. Judging by your reply, it sounds like a kingcutter is a solid and dependable attachment. Thanks.

Actually most/all "Normal" tillers are what you would call "Foward rotation"...My Sovema is, and I know the KK/Countyline is as well.
If you prefer the Reverse Rotation, the only one in that list you posted is the Land Pride...between the quality, reverse rotation, and small price increase, go with that Land Pride unit.
Typically the reverse rotation units are very much more expensive...why...I dunno...so for ~$225.00 without a doubt the LP is the way to go. If it were a "normal rotation" Land Pride unit, I'd probably suggest the KKII...
