Including an attachment - this is a picture of the diesel injection pump on a Mitsubishi D3250. What are the two bolts in the red circles? I think they look like adjustment bolts (I have no idea what they would adjust), the owner thinks they're for bleeding the system.
Maybe they're for some other purpose. Please help us clear this up.
Reason I'm asking about this is cause the owner wants to replace the fuel filter, which sets in a glass bowl down low on the tractor. I opened the bowl, washed off the filter because we couldn't find a replacement, and made the mistake of reassembling the filter assembly without filling the glass bowl with fuel. The tractor sucked air and wouldn't start. I cracked the fuel lines at the injectors to clear the lines. We cranked it til fuel blew out past the loosened fittings. It still took quite a bit for the tractor to stutter to life after tightening the fittings. Is there a better way to bleed these tractors?
Thanks!
