Purchased a lightly used Mitsubishi BD 2G dozer to clear brush on my river property. Barely got the dozer out of the box when both the right-side lift cylinder and the angling cylinder began to leak. Thought it would be easiest to remove the cylinders and have a local hydraulic shop rebuild the cylinders. The lift cylinder was removed in about 5 minutes. After 2-hours I gave up on the angling cylinder. The service manual indicates the cylinders are held in place with pins just like the lift cylinders. After removing the keeper neither cylinder pins on the dozer blade or the C-frame holding the angle cylinder in place could be moved. Is there a trick to pulling the pins on the angling cylinders?

FYI...Placing a 2-1/2 ton jack under the pin holding the cylinder to the blade succeeded in lifting the blade off the ground but did not budge the pin. The attempt to remove the pin from the other end of the cylinder connected to the C-frame was even more futile. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You already removed the keeper plate on the pin? Make sure there isn't tension against the cylinder ams all the pressurebis released on the lines if you haven't already.

Medic,
Removed the keeper plate, a 1" x 3"x 3/8" plate held in place with the 2 bolts. The 3/8" keeper plate slides into a grove near the top of the pin. Once the keeper plate was removed still could not remove, turn or twist the pin. Disconnected the hydraulic lines so the pressure was equalized on the cylinder, hammered, jacked up, pried and placed a 24" pipe wrench on the pin could not move, turn or wiggle either pin. So I'm looking for the secret removal technique for the angling cylinder.

The lift cylinder pins were easy to pull with a tap from a ball ping hammer they sled right out. The angle cylinder pins have me stumped.

You sure there isn't another keeper or someone's welding on the bottom? Also heat should help break it free. The other option is a pneumatic hammer to knock it out.

Without actually seeing it in person, I would say heat and a 4lb hammer. :(

Thanks for the advice. A touch and a big hammer sounds like a hard hot job during the Texas Summer. Have not been able to get to the river and dozer for a few weeks. I will let you know how it turns out.

Hey, I know it has been a while but did you ever get the pin out of the C frame on that angling cylinder? I am having similar difficulty. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
