Hi there, I am new on the forum.
I leave in Mallorca, hope my english is understandable.
I have a sailing boat fitted with a Solé diesel engine, based on the Mitsubishi KE75.
It was raw water cooled but I wanted to restore it to its normal fresh water cooled version.
So I got the spacer for the fresh water pump and the pulley from Sam Bolens, and also the thermostat housing from a dutch parts dealer.
Now I am putting all together but I am in doubt and I am struggling to find a parts breakdown on the net.
The sites I have been browsing around allways asked me for my credit card details to deliver a PDF manual but im do not trust those.
What I am interested in is the pipework and valve (if any) between the thermostat case and (I guess) the inlet of cooling water pump.
In other words, when the thermostat is closed during warm-up time, the water flows throug a small orifice by the side of thermostat case, and I guess it should be lead to recycle throug the pump by reinjecting it on its inlet.
Sounds complicated but it certainly is not.
I figure out when the engine reaches its normal working temperature the thermostat opens allowing the cooling water to flow through the heat exchanger, wich in turns reduces the water pressure on the small orifice causing the water recirculation to diminish or even to stop, with the consequent full flow through the engine block.
But may be there is some sort of valve involved on that process...?
That is why I would like to see a parts breakdown in order to make my deductions.
Please does somebody mind showing any pictures or comments?
And also does somebody knows a safe mode to find or purchase a workshop manual of Mitsubishi KE75 engine?
Many thanks in advance and best regards,
Carlos
