Hi there, I am new on the forum.:)
I leave in Mallorca, hope my english is understandable.
I have a sailing boat fitted with a Solé diesel engine, based on the Mitsubishi KE75.
It was raw water cooled but I wanted to restore it to its normal fresh water cooled version.
So I got the spacer for the fresh water pump and the pulley from Sam Bolens, and also the thermostat housing from a dutch parts dealer.
Now I am putting all together but I am in doubt and I am struggling to find a parts breakdown on the net.
The sites I have been browsing around allways asked me for my credit card details to deliver a PDF manual but im do not trust those.
What I am interested in is the pipework and valve (if any) between the thermostat case and (I guess) the inlet of cooling water pump.
In other words, when the thermostat is closed during warm-up time, the water flows throug a small orifice by the side of thermostat case, and I guess it should be lead to recycle throug the pump by reinjecting it on its inlet.
Sounds complicated but it certainly is not.
I figure out when the engine reaches its normal working temperature the thermostat opens allowing the cooling water to flow through the heat exchanger, wich in turns reduces the water pressure on the small orifice causing the water recirculation to diminish or even to stop, with the consequent full flow through the engine block.
But may be there is some sort of valve involved on that process...?
That is why I would like to see a parts breakdown in order to make my deductions.
Please does somebody mind showing any pictures or comments?
And also does somebody knows a safe mode to find or purchase a workshop manual of Mitsubishi KE75 engine?
Many thanks in advance and best regards,
Carlos:)

Hello all.
I have seen that more than hundred people have already read my post so I am going to redirect my approuch right now.
Please, does somebody can post a couple of pictures with a view of the thermostat housing and water pump (right side please) of a Mitsubishi KE75 engine? That would be very helpful to me.
Many thanks, Carlos

I cant help with pics or a manual but I suggest you post this in the Iseki forum below. I know there are several people with Bolens G174 or TX1500 model Isekis that hang out there, I'm sure someone will be able to help.

Thank you Milkman. Great stuff.
The pic shows a water pump with a secondary (smaller) fitting on the inlet pipe, obviously intended to be connected to a smaller hose (not to the main cooling water flow hose) I am trying to find out where such a hose is to be connected to.
Does somebody can enlight me on the matter?
Again many thanks

Thank you Milkman.
The engine is a three cylinder, not a KE75. Anyway it shows a direct connection.
I guess is a bypass for the water to recycle through the pump while the thermostat is closed during engine warm up.
The next question is: what does prevent the water from recycling once the thermostat is fully open?
Perhaps the drop on pressure that happens when the thermostat opens, allowing the water to flow through a much wider hose?
Or my be there is some sort of valve involved...?

My you're certainly up early or really late.:) I don't think there's a valve involved, water just takes the path of least resistance, the bigger hose.

Not late, neither too early, I am in Spain. GMT + 1 I guess:)
Your post was really helpful.
Now I would like to ask some other people to come up with pictures of the KE engine!
Many thanks and best wishede for the new year
Cheers
