The bucket size is related to the tractor size. R1s are fine.

I've heard it all depends on the size of the tractor, too. Larger tractors have larger R1 front tires. My Kioti DK45SE is right on the edge of having R1 too small for heavy loader work. So I guess I was wondering if there are any other people running R1 on 45hp or smaller tractors with FELs that have or have not experienced any issues with this setup.

Thanks,
Adam

Are you going to move 1 ton pallets all day? Even then if you have enough rear ballast, the fronts should be fine. I've run a few trips with a 1000lb bale on the front with no ballast down the road at full speed and had no issue other than wear on the fronts. The same trip with a bale on the back produced less wear.

Gentlemen....thank you for your responses. I appreciate your time and input.

I'm just moving dirt, mulch, and the like with the FEL. Nothing too heavy. I'm likely going to switch to all R1 tires and go from there.

I am not sure everyone was understanding what you were asking.

I "think" everyone was assuming you had R1's already and were wanting to go to R4 fronts because of loader concerns.

IMO, R4 fronts ARE way better for loader work. They can handle the weight better, more puncture resistance, and wider means they will not rut up as bad with heavy loads in soft conditions.

Now that dont mean R1's arent up to the task, because they are and have been proven time and again. But R4's are simply better.

Since you ALREADY HAVE R4 fronts, I would just change the rears. And it appears all you need to do is a tire swap, no need to buy rims.

So in this case, I'd just do the rears.

My situation is just the opposite. I have R1's and wish I had R4 fronts. But due to difficulty finding the right size tire to match ratios with R1 rears, + the expense of a new rim, there is nothing I am going to do about it.
