You could probably make yourself a "thinga majobie" with a hook on the end to reach down and pull up when needed (heck put a hole in the end to grab also). Then just find a place to stow on the tractor when not using (this is the hard part).

One potential source of the "rod" is an old golf club. My father has a couple we use for playing horse shoes to pick up the shoes. Cut of club head, attach a bent piece of metal to the saft and voila a "thinga majobie" is born! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Lift till your hearts content........you could even coat with plasti coat if you didn't want to drill the hole so it would grip ok.

I used a bungy to hold mine up when my bagger is on or when loading on my trailer, but don't lift and drop regularly or I would probably build one myself.

I bent a small bolt at 90 deg and put 2 nuts on one end . It fits in the hole on the deck and in the hole on the chute...I will get you a pic of it later

I havn't mowed with it down since I dented on a tree when I 1st got the tractor. Now I use it as a safety reminder. Seems I have a habit of getting off the machine when it's running, many a time my left foot would step down on the go pedal as I'm trying to dismount. Not very safe. So now with the chute up it reminds me to exit orange left.

Here's what I use. Just an old chunk of 2X4 with bolt going through it that drops into the hole on the deck. A couple of pieces of 1/4 " plywood on the ends adds just the right amount to raise the chute straight up.

Even more good ideas - - thanks much. I'm looking to pull it up for tight fits, & leave it down the rest of the time. I mow around the house with lots of windows, not to mention dogs & family, so mostly I want the chute down.
I've thought about a stick with a hook on the end. The trick, as was pointed out, is to find a place on the BX to stow the stick when not in use. I'm still thinking.

Ok TDog, I think I have a solution. You can put magnets on the "thinga majobie" or velcro and mount it on the ROPS vertically.

What do you think? I was thinking magnets fastened permanately to the "thinga majobie".
