After reading this Forum for quite some time I decided to buy a BX1500. I saved myself about $2,000 by purchasing the tractor from the states and having it shipped to Alaska, downside is that I had no one to show me how to operate the tractor or it's attachments. I did receive manuals for the MMM and FEL as well as the tractor but some things just have to be figured out via hands on. I purchased a rear blade and when I received the tractor it was attached, which only made sense. The MMM was raised but according to the manual it should be on the Top setting when raised and locked for travel. However, the MMM adjustment knob reads on the 2.0 setting. It appears that the MMM is not quite up to the highest ground clearance level that it is supposed to have when raised to the Top position (4.75") but I am not positive as to how to raise, or attempt to raise, the MMM with the rear blade attached. If I move the hydraulic control lever to raise the mower, won't that also raise the rear blade? If I do raise them both, should I then turn the MM adjustment knob to Top position and will that raise the MMM all the way up and lock it in it's highest position ? The knob feels quite stiff to turn and I feel as though I am going to break it by turning it, is that just a by-product of being new? Then if I go to lower the MMM to the ground for removal, if the hydraulic control lever is all the way down, so the blade is all the way down but the MMM is still up, will simply turning the MMM adjustment knob to 0 make the MMM go all the way down? I apologize for the long question but I have only had the tractor for one week and family, work, and prior commitments have kept me from "playing" with the tractor at all so this weekend will be my first time out with it and I want to make sure I understand what I am doing. Thanks for any help. PS I would loved to have bought locally so as to have a salesman walk me through all of this upon delivery but they wouldn't budge on their price and $2,000 is a big savings. Thanks again!!

I can't help you with the adjustments necessary to your MMM as I've never tackled that job, but I will point out that the last time I looked, Alaska was a member of "the states"!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You might have to lift one side of the mower deck to get the knob to turn from the "TOP" position. The deck and the 3 point hitch move in tandem unless the MMM dial is in the "TOP" position. Usually people remove the MMM when using the tractor with the blade. I suggest that you purchase the MMM wheel bushing kit and the mower axle stand. Here is a link to the ad on TBN.

Hello,
I would ask the dealer why the manuals weren't sent with your unit. I purchased mine via the internet, and the manuals were shrinkwrapped to the ROPS.

3 manuals...tractor/fel/mmm

Have you removed the rear attachment? I would suggest removing the rear attachement. Then move the MMM to the up position and try rotating the knob to 'top'.

Your rear attachment may not be allowing the MMM to raise to the top position. The knob can not be moved unless it is in the upper position.

BAM is right, the MMM must be fully raised in order to turn the MMM height adjustment knob. When the MMM is in that position, the knob shouldn't be hard to turn. When the MMM is lowered, the knob is virtually impossible to turn.
