You have to also watch how high your deck is set to rise when you lift it...this can be adjusted by the front and rear mower adjusting threads as well as through the 3pt hydraulic lever adjuster. I don't know if mine was too high or a stick hit it, but the plastic sliding coupler was cracked and that can allow it to uncouple much easier. I found on routine maintenance my coupler was not locked when it had been previously. I wrapped a nylon pull tie around it and it has held up for over a year, but not a good solution. My opinion is these should not be made from plastic!
I'm not so sure it is possible to have your deck lift high enough to use the "pin up" feature (for using 3pt and not drag the deck) and not have that coupler come too close to the bottom of the machine. I had been keeping the deck lower rather than spend an entire day adjusting and readjusting the deck height to find out but then I had to use a floor jack to raise the deck high enough to put the pins in to hold the deck in the pinned up position. Recently I didn't want to be bothered fiddling around and wasting time to pin up the deck and realized I could use a small ratchet tie down hooked to the loader mount using the empty pin hole for the top hook on the strap and the bottom of the deck for the lower hook. Very quick and easy and with the ratchets being adjustable you don't have to worry about having the deck up so high as it might hit the PTO shaft on the bottom. I had considered building an elaborate professional looking alternative "pin up" system using a pin through the empty loader pin hole and a turnbuckle or chain down to the anti-scalp wheels but the ratchet tie downs are so cheap and quick I didn't bother. They might not work well in heavy thicket however where they might catch on something and they wont win and beauty contests.
