I am having to replace the coupler that attaches the drive shaft of the MMM to the mid pto. I took the mower off a couple of months ago and went to install it Saturday and I could not get the coupler to attach to the pto. I pulled the shaft out and lubricated the 3 small ball bearings that hold the coupler to the pto shaft. All three of the balls were difficult to retract and one will not retract. Becareful, with the coupler when you remove it. This thing costs $200.00. Do not pry it off with alot of force because it will screw up the inside of the coupler. This is what I believe happen to mine from the previous owner.

Go to Burden Sales Surplus Center - Hydraulics, Engines, Electrical and More - they have genuine Kubota PTO shafts that have that collar on them. It is not the right length for the BX MMM, but it has the collar, two u-joints, and the fitting for the MMM end of the shaft, all for $24.95.
I had to replace that collar after it came loose when mowing - something you don't want to happen, believe me. I just bought the whole new shaft for almost $300.
Also, you might want to get some Fluid Film (Fluid Film: Corrosion Preventive, Lubricant and Rust Inhibitor)
to keep it nice and lubed. I learned about it here and it's great stuff.

Make sure that thing is locked, mine came off, ripped a hole in the HST filter, lost all fluid, and was a big contributing factor to my HST failing to the tune of $2000.

You have to also watch how high your deck is set to rise when you lift it...this can be adjusted by the front and rear mower adjusting threads as well as through the 3pt hydraulic lever adjuster. I don't know if mine was too high or a stick hit it, but the plastic sliding coupler was cracked and that can allow it to uncouple much easier. I found on routine maintenance my coupler was not locked when it had been previously. I wrapped a nylon pull tie around it and it has held up for over a year, but not a good solution. My opinion is these should not be made from plastic!

I'm not so sure it is possible to have your deck lift high enough to use the "pin up" feature (for using 3pt and not drag the deck) and not have that coupler come too close to the bottom of the machine. I had been keeping the deck lower rather than spend an entire day adjusting and readjusting the deck height to find out but then I had to use a floor jack to raise the deck high enough to put the pins in to hold the deck in the pinned up position. Recently I didn't want to be bothered fiddling around and wasting time to pin up the deck and realized I could use a small ratchet tie down hooked to the loader mount using the empty pin hole for the top hook on the strap and the bottom of the deck for the lower hook. Very quick and easy and with the ratchets being adjustable you don't have to worry about having the deck up so high as it might hit the PTO shaft on the bottom. I had considered building an elaborate professional looking alternative "pin up" system using a pin through the empty loader pin hole and a turnbuckle or chain down to the anti-scalp wheels but the ratchet tie downs are so cheap and quick I didn't bother. They might not work well in heavy thicket however where they might catch on something and they wont win and beauty contests.
