All last summer I struggled getting the MMM installed simple because the rear links will not lower all the way down on their own without alot of help (a heavy duty digging bar used to pry them down). After the mower is installed, the rear links go down all the way probably because of the added weight of the mower. And yes, I do set the cutting height control to zero before attempting to lower the links. I still have a good month or so before I have to worry about grass cutting, but has anyone else experienced this same problem? Do those rear links just get some slight rust buildup that prevents them from lowering down without any weight attached? Sure would be nice to have those links go down on their own the entire way to make this a quick job this summer. Thanks for any help.

I generally hit the lift link pivot points w/a good soaking of WD40 or/PB Blaster (whichever I have on hand) just before I remount the MMM and that helps some but I still end up haveing to go around to the rear and push down on the 3ph lift arms to hurry it along. Course you can't do that with the BH mounted.....

I have found my right side MMM lift link sticking before. (at around 200 hrs). Even the weight of the MMM wouldn't bring it all the way down. I took it out, cleaned up the mounting bracket and bolt surfaces and gave the whole pivoting assembly a good coating of oil, it hasn't stuck since.
I'm going on my 4th mowing season

Done the WD40 thing...also set the flow rate on the hydraulics to max... if you have it set to low "slow", that can keep them in the up position.

X2, that seems to be the biggest problem. Turn Knob counterclockwise (while facing it) so that the 3pt lift arms will fall under their own weight. These control the mower links as well.

That should not happen. The possible causes listed above are the only reasons I can think of. I'd recommend caution with that pry bar.

Thanks for the help guys.....sounds like hopefully an easy fix. I tried putting some juice on it last year to help lubricate, but I may need to fully disassemble and do a more through job. Maybe I will get lucky and just adjusting the control dial will do it.
