Mid Mount Mower Mounting!!

Hey All,

I'm (still) trying to decide on which MMM to buy for my BX2370. The mounting Method listed in the BX brochure lists the 54" MMM mounting method as "Suspended Linkage" The 60" MMM mounting method is listed as "Self Balance"

Can someone tell me the difference between the two mounting methods and whether one is preferred over the other?

Great Forum--Lots of good information that is helping me to make the right decisions!

Thanks All
BN

The 60" mounts and works just like the 54".I had a 54" on my Bx 2360 and went with a 60" on my new Bx 2670 and am well pleased with it.:cool2:

2670,

Mind if I ask why you went from a 2360 to a 2670? Is there that much difference? Did you do it for the HP?

They are the same frame, size, capability so I'm why you upgraded?

Cheers,
BN

I have a 54" and wish a little that I had the 60." The 60" would stick out a little more past the tractor.

I wanted the new dash and seat and after pricing them I decided to get a new Bx so I got the 2670.I can tell its a little stronger (sounds a little different also ) but the 2360 did everything I ever asked of it,glad I got the 60" deck also.:cool2:

It is really too hard to explain without looking at the mowers or the manuals, I "believe" there is a little more side to side flexibility from what I saw. Regardless, I went from a 54" deck on our John Deere to a 60" MMM on our first BX2200 and have it on our BX2660 also and really find the 60" much easier to trim with around bushes, houses and ditches. In a large area, you will notice the added cutting width more than you would think.

Both are suspended decks. The 60 inch is "self balancing", which I doubt has much functional differance even though it had an extra bit of hardware and another zerk (which never would take grease anyway). The 60 is better if you have a lot of open straight away mowing as I did. I'd imagine the 54" would be a little more manuverable in close quarters and storage. That's my 0.02 having owned the 60" for three seasons. Also, stepping off to the ground should be easier with the more narrow deck if one's agility is a factor. Cheers, Mike
