MOD HITCH??

MY GRANDFATHER OWNS A BACKHOE AND HE HAS BEEN SEARCHING FOR A "MOD HITCH", WHICH I AM HAVING A HARD TIME FINDING. IF ANYONE CAN POINT ME IN A GOOD DIRECTION THAT WOULD BE GREAT. THANKS

I would like to welcome you to TBN. This is a great group of guys, which have some wonderful ideas for various things.

I am not sure what you mean by "mod hitch." I understand that it has something to do with the backhoe, but maybe if you explained a bit more clearly then we could make clear suggestions.

One thing though. Writing in ALL CAPS is the internet way of SHOUTING. So it is best used vary sparingly.

Sorry about the caps.
I didn't want to ask him to many questions, because I wanted to buy the hitch for him for his birthday. But I guess it is used so that he can use a bunch of different attachments with the backhoe.

If I understand it right, maybe you are referring to some sort of quick way to attach different implements in the place of the bucket. I did a quick search and found some patents, but no products. If he were simply talking about a "modified hitch" then it could be anything that he has worked out in his mind. He probably has a specific thing in mind and would be impossible for me to guess what that might be. In this case it would be better to ask him point blank what it is he wants and what is holding him back from getting it. If the hold back is money, then offer it to him as a gift. He will appreciate it all the more because you want to give something that will help him.

Does he have a Case backhoe? If so, this might be it. Case 580K Backhoe (search for "Mod hitch") It appears to be a fully hydraulic add-on 3PT system.
