Well, check fluid, it was high, so put it down to just under full. Put plug back in with finger. Was good for about 20 min then popped out again. Mechanic said to get a new one and try it again.
Breather hose doesn't seem to be clogged. It is above 3 point hitch in the center. I will try a new one, and if that doesn't work... It may be time for JB-weld. :confused3:

Meh, i wouldn't think the breather is clogged. and like i said, the top of the shifter allows it to breath also.

1) is that cover metal?
2) are you using the factory part plugs or did you find a plug at a local store?

maybe the holes in the cover are egged out a bit.
i like the idea of brass plugs the cover is metal and you can get a good snug fit.
but if you're pounding a snug brass plug in there, maybe just run the route you said too and just JB those ones in that you have. haha.

Ok, Problem Solved! Let this be a lesson for everyone! My breather tube, behind the seat, between the arms of the 3pt. hitch, was totally clogged. It was shaped like an n (weather head) so no water would go in. When I tried to unscrew it, it hit the bracket that held the seat. So I got my grinder and cut off the top. Took it off and it was full of oily dirt. So I air pressured it out and cleaned it good. Put it back in and hose clamped a flex hose up and down so water and dust won't go in. Then I took the original plug and pushed it back in the hole, put some silicone over it and waited til the next day to test. That was it!
It was building up pressure and it pushed out the safety plug.
Thanks for all the suggestions! They guided me down the right path.

Glad to hear you got it figured out! And thanks for sharing!

I was wrong about thinking the trans would breathe through the shifter inlet also. Hm. Maybe add one of Those small filters to the end of the breather hose to make sure NO dirt/dust gets inside. Obviously it made its way there over time from new.

Glad your machine is back to work for you.
