John Deere 4200 MFWD HST w/ JD 420 FEL w/ 61" loader bucket & toothbar & JD 37 BH w/ 12" bucket
I've been recovering from some medical issues for a couple seasons and just went to put my backhoe on my JD4200 HST for the first time in at least three years and don't remember the procedure well enough to know if a couple large, round head pins that were on it were from it or not. I installed the BH using the rockshaft and the two large, wire attached pins and clips. Everything seems to be OK but I'm just not sure. I honestly don't remember if I've done anything else in the past or not. I can't see where I'd put these two big, round head pins, but I'm sure concerned that they were on the BH. While I don't remember them from the BH, I don't remember them from anything else, either.

What I'm trying to figure out is whether or not I'm missing something in the installation or if those pins just got put there from something else and I'm worrying about nothing. I sure don't want to use or even try to move the BH until I'm sure. Is there an online manual someone could direct me to find? Thanks!

I have a 448 so I don't know if they mount the same but JD usally trys to . Once the rocker shaft ( 3 point hitch ) lifts the backhoe in place . Just below the rocker shafts and towards the seat there is 2 holes 1 to the left and 1 to the right ( If your standing directly behind the backhoe looking towards the front of the tractor) Thats were the 2 pins go in to lock the backhoe to the frame. You don't want to operate the backhoe unless the pins are installed.I hope this helps.

Put some JD Green paint on them and then next time you may remember that they go with the hoe.

Gary, I think you are all set with your hoe,
using those large pins on the cable should
be all you need for the hoe installation.

here is a diagram showing those attaching parts,,,

as far as the other pins you have,, what size are
they? could they have come from the 3ph or another
implement?

i think the hoe itself had some pins to lock the
boom.. but i think they are longer, and not a
round headed pin..

Here is the link to the online manual for the 47, 48, and 49 backhoes.
