Model 60 has me stumped

i forget the number on compression, didn't right it down. Plugs are dry, going out now to try to work on it again.

I'm not sure but if it ran out of gas would it have backfired?

Yes, as I said in my first post. Two very loud and rapid backfires. We think its for sure in the carb, we checked compression, valves timing everything on the ignition side. It will run if we manually spray gas down through the carb. So we've replaced all the fuel lines the shut off valve and can get fuel in to the carb just not spraying into the engine. We sent the carb off to popingjoncarbs for testing, rebuild if needed.

Well finally some good news.

Sent the carb off to popinjonscarb shop in NY, guy is great, carb came back in less than a week and fully cleaned out, put it on the tractor, it would run for a min or two and then die. Thought it was flooding but that wasn't happening. Finally we replaced the condenser inside the Distributor. Tractor runs now better than it has since we bought it.

If you need a carb rebuilt, send it to popinjohns. Guy is quick and fair priced
