Thanks

Soundguy-ever used one? Is it narrow front? take some time to get used to the hand clutch on it. How did you come by it?

Trike style front.. ( 2 wheels ).

Yep.. I've been avoiding hand clutch tractors for some time now.. but the last few trikes I've seen that i wanted had them.. so I might as well dust the ol'e thinking cap, and learn a few new tricks.

I actually found it by pics posted here from another member, in response to my request about trying to find a trike locally.

I had been looking at a few in north florida, and PA.. but nothing that I could afford the haul for, or the quality wasn't what I wanted.. etc.

It will be a toy tractor.. i.e. no work to do.. except for maybee a float in a parade.. or holding down a patch of grass at a show.. etc.. At the extreme, it might pull a pasture drag or some very light pasture duty like that...

They are sooooooo much fun to drive with the hand clutch. The first time I drove one over the summer I did not want to get off. When starting it only takes one pop of the engine then even if it seems the engine has died you give it a little gas and it will come back to live. Amazing.

Is it a hand-start? I have a late-model B (was my dad's) that is electric start but I grew up with my grandpa's B where you had to turn the flywheel over by hand. If it is a hand-start make sure the current owner walks you through the process of opening the compression releases, etc. There is only one "right/safe" way to start a hand-start model.

These are great hobby tractors. Someday I want to do a full restoration on mine and just enjoy reliving my childhood.

Oh no I don't own a model B. I had to clean up a customers model 620 or something like that and it had electric start and power steering. I don't drive them that often. I had one of the mechanics show me how to start it and everything as I did not want to get on and not be able to stop it. Your right that if you are not careful you can get into trouble.
