Backhoe Model # location ford 555 backhoe

Hey new to site
I have a ford 555 loader/backhoe and need to know how to find model # of hoe. Only numbers I've found are behind the starter on transmission.any help will be appreciated.

Welcome to TBN. I'm not in my shop right now but will post details of how to read the numbers when I get back there.

Is there a tag on the side of the dash tower, entry side. Should be eye level when standing beside machine facing dash. Mine is a stenciled black and silver tag about 2x3 inches. Lists tractor number, model, unit, engine, transmission and rear axle. With the unit number I can tell you everything including what shift built it.

DF511F is your Model number

DF5 = 555 industrial flat deck
1 = Diesel engine
1 = no lift or PTO
F = 4x4 torque converter auto reversing transmission

8E5B is your assembly date May 5, 1978 second shift

as for the Hoe itself, the 555 was available with either a 14' or 15' reach backhoe, there is a Ford
component tag on the main mounting frame of the hoe, number should begin 19-XXX that can tell us which it is

The hoe tag should be on the subframe, left side, rear.

I gather all these numbers and create a file. If going for parts I have all that with me.

Have a # 19-608 on tag of backhoe if that means anything ?

this is on the backhoe itself on the main swing frame?
might want to re-check that a bit closer, that's for the front loader on an older machine

Well dang that's the only tag I saw back by the hoe. Any other particular place it might be ? Still haven't located a switch yet local so may have to order online. Any idea if fuel lines to pump have an original where they connect or are they flared. Have one leaking and lost my prime. But gotta get switch fixed first just wondering ?
