I bought a 54" JD plow last year for my 2520 and found it to be too small for my tractor. So I sent it over to a fabricator I know and had the width increased to 66", the moldboard height increased to 20" and had the A-frame extended out 6". I know that it's best to keep the blade as close to the front of the tractor as possible, but by increasing the length of the A-frame, the max. lift height of the plow is increased and it helps keep the blade's lower/outer tips from hitting the ground when fully angled and in the raised position. It's hard to tell the size difference between a stock 54" and my "new" 66" from the photos, but it makes a difference. The plow covers the rear tires at full angle, which is what I was after. In retrospect, I probably should've gone to 6', but 5.5' will be just fine for my driveway. Next stop is the sandblaster/powdercoater for some new paint.
