I finally got around to setting up my KK carryall this week. I added a receiver hitch, cut down from one off a junked car. I used treated 2x12's cut 5 feet long for the floor and back. A little JD green and it was good to go. One problem, the height of the back panel makes it impossible to see the corners from the operator's station whcih makes maneuvering difficult.

Later, I plan on adding sideboards and a bench seat.

That looks good Runner. Once you get the seat and sideboards installed, you can tow a small float in a local parade with pretty girls waving from your carryall with more pretty girls waving from the float.

This is the only modification I've made to my KK carryall. Picasa Web Albums - Matt - King Kutter K...

Matt,

I think the wife will be the only pretty girl waving from the carryall....

The main reason for the trailer hitch is that this will be my tree-trimming rig. I have an electric pole saw, so the generator goes on the carryall. I'll have my utility trailer on the hitch to throw the tree limbs in while I'm working, so theoretically, I just make one trip around the property.

Your brackets look great. I can only aspire to someday be able to do metalworking of that quality, but I'm afraid that day may never come.

I just bought a carry all for the same reason Runner. I'm wondering if you will have to tie it to the drawbar when you are towing the trailer to keep it from rising up if the trailer load gets a bit to the rear, etc. I've thought about putting a trailer hitch on my chipper for the same reason.

Not as elaborate as yours but it serves my purpose.

LB,

Your carryall looks great. The "curb" around it is great for keeping your cargo from sliding off.

Chuck,

I anticipated the possible upward movement of the carryall with the hitch on it. The adapter between the hitch and the carryall has a chain with a "D" link attached to it to prevent this. If you look real close, you can see it in the blow up picture attached, although it wasn't hooked up to the drawbar for the picture.

Thanks Runner concerning the brackets. It sounds like you have a good plan in mind for saving yourself some trips.

Ah, I see that D ring now. That is a good plan, and I think I'll use it on mine. I have to check the pre drilled hole spacing, and see what I have for lumber then I'll get mine set up.
