I cut a lot of fields for different customers that have tall thick grass, such as CRP type grass, Most of the land is flat and clear of debris.
I have an idea about modifying a shredder. I thinking of removing the round flat 3/4" stump jumper and add 2 more blades on each stump jumper. I would send the stump jumper to a machine shop and have them to add the holes necessary to add the blades. They would have the tools and the necessary skills to proform theis procedure and have the holes in the exact location to maintain the balance necessary for it to rotate at pto speed without any viberation.
I am thinking that the additional blades would allow a better cut at the same or a little faster ground speed. Should not require any more horse power to operate.
What has caused me to conceive this idea is the grass left partly cut.
Has any one done this or is it a non-workable idea.
