I don't know about cleaning anything else, but Coke sure worked well on the windshield in the mid-60s. When it rained the windshields on the squad cars would have a little film that the wipers didn't clean off very well, so when working at night, just stop and buy a Coke and pour it along the top of the windshield with the wipers on at slow speed. I've also done it to my personal car when driving at night in the rain. Of course you hoped to have enough rain to wash the Coke off, or a water hose handy, to not leave a sticky mess on the pain job.:laughing:

It appears to me that the video is that the stains the video producer had were water solvable, not petroleum based. He probably would have gotten the same results with water. (I do question his intelligence, not turning his radio off while he was making his video.) Still, the idea is definitely thought provoking.

Bird - - when in college(Seattle, U 0f W) we found the very best windshield cleaner. A word of caution here - this solution may raise havoc with newer cars paint finish.

A pot(not something the wife will cherish) with a gallon of water. One sack of Bull Durham smoking tobacco. Throw the sack of tobacco in the pot of water and boil for ten minutes. Believe me - it will cut the road grime and glare off your vehicle windshield like nothing else.

My grandmother who drove 51 Chevy sedan (many years ago) used to keep sack of Bull Durham in glove box, use to rub it over wet windshield to "clean it".....

I don't drink Monster drinks so I don't know much about them, and I'm not saying it's not true but I think it would have been a bit beleivable for me if he would have opened a new can. Maybe it's monster.... maybe it isn't.

It is possible that the drink can clean well, given that it is very acidic.

According to https://www.ada.org/en/~/media/ADA/...JADA_The pH of beverages in the United States Monster has a pH of 3.4.

Most soft drinks are acidic. The link I gave shows a comprehensive list of drinks and their pH.

Coke is even more acidic, with a pH range of 2.34 to 2.96. If it is the acid that is helping with the cleaning, then many drinks would be as, if not more, effective than Monster.

FYI, tooth enamel dissolves if the pH drops below 5.5 It takes about 20-30 minutes for the pH in the mouth to return to normal after having an acidic drink. Something to think about for anyone who loves to sip drinks all day long.

Subject line had me confused: I kind of doubt that brake cleaner would taste as good as MED, but it surely would (briefly) wake you up! This isn't an experiment I'd like to try.
