Montana 5720C

Hi,

Does anyone have any experience with the 5720C? I've just about beat my poor 25 year old blue tractor to death. I looked at Montana and compared to the prices I got from the blue, green, and orange dealers, Montana makes it hard to pass up. I'm looking at a 5720C with no FEL (they just get in my way). Thanks!

Don't know about the 2WD version, but we are pretty pleased with the 5740C. I was originally going to get the 5720, but the difference in cost to go with 4WD wasn't that great and will probably help in resale if I ever need to update. View from the cab is unobstructed and everything is within easy reach.

Seems to have plenty of power and handles nicely. A bit short on road gear, but that's not a major problem. It's been 'Texas kinda hot' here the last month or three, and the tractor runs cool as a cucumber. The AC has been a blessing. When (if) the temp gets below about 95 degrees, I've actually had to turn the AC down!

AHA!!! I knew that someone from hot country would post one of these days, and a Kansas dirtclodder(no offense) is the perfect person to ask. I notice you don't have any problem with A/C. I've been running about 8 hours before I have to blow out the A/C radiator. Unfortunatly, I am nowhere near a shop or compressor most of the time. Have been cleaning the prescreen often, just to get airflow to the main radiator, have cut the prescreen into thirds, just to be able to get it off of the A/C radiator, which plugs almost immediatly due to fine grass seed and dust. The A/C does not work well at all in what you would consider "warm "weather, and am having a tough time keeping the engine cool. Any thoughts?

Yes, yes and yes! Had the same problem. Removal of the factory screen is a pain because of the loader frame.. so... Solution (not involving sharp objects on metal screens <g>)....

Non-metal (vinyl) window screen material! Get a small roll at Wal-Mart and cut a piece to fit in front of the sliding metal screen on the tractor (right in front of the AC cooling fins), held in place with a couple of small (8" or 9" bungi cables) hooked to the factor screen. To clean, remove bungi cords, shake **** outta the screen material and replace. Back in business in about 5 minutes with MUCH cooler AC. This should also minimize the need to flush out the radiator and AC fins with water as often to keep them clean.
