Been visiting this website for a couple years. 1st post. Thinking very strongly about buying a Montana C5264 from a SC dealer. What is the quality of this tractor. Do any of you guys own one? Is it Romania or Korean? How hard is it to get parts? Who makes the engine? Don't it have a factory warranty? Why does it have such big hubs on the front wheels?

I was 100% sure I wanted one until I spent alot of time this past weekend reading up as much as I could.(the Montana website has very little info on this model. It don't list engine manufacturer, dimensions, warranty...not much of anything). I have read on these forums about how pleased most people are with the Montanas, but how the support/service and parts are not up to par.

Also, the dealer I was talking with was trying to sell me a 12 month warranty. Don't they come with a 3 year warranty included with the purchase!??? The tractor seems like it was a heavy built unit and if it is decent quality, a far more better deal than any other I have priced. (a John Deere this size would cost twice as much).

Montanaman, maka, any owners of a c5264 know anything about these? I don't need a HST transmission or nothing fancy. That is why I'm interested in this model. I just want to know if it is a decent quality unit and if I will have a problem getting parts or service for it. Thanks

I wish I could offer some ideas to you, but I have never stocked or sold the UTB tractors. I'm just not in the right area for that type of tractor as most of my sales are compacts going to 5 to 10 acre owners.

I do know that the UTB was brought in to be just what you are looking for. A big plain tractor with a lot of weight and no frills but I just never even looked at them at the dealer meetings because I was busy looking at what would sell in my area.

Hope some owners or stocking dealers can jump in here and help out.

Thanks for the info. I've been told the engine is made by Mitsubishi. If that is so, I'm ok with that. My main conern is that parts will always be available. I have also heard of alot of dealers dropping the Montana line. I know this can happen with any brand of anything, but with this being a relatively new company, I didn't want to wake up in a couple years owning a piece of equipment that parts aren't available for.

I wouldn't bet on it having a Mitsubishi engine. Engine displacement, Hp, etc., are the same as the UTB 524, which lists UTB as engine manufacturer.

dgl24087...what do you know about the UTB tractors? Do they hold up well? Is it fairly easy to get parts?

UTB builds the engines under an agreement with Fiat. We have 2 from around 1980 in our barn of grove tractors, they are Long tractors. Oliver & White also used them. We have had no major problems with them, they both have over 8000 hours on them. Part have never been over 1 to 5 days away from a number of sources. Not for sure about the new ones, but the old ones were built like little tanks.

Hogan....Thanks for the info. It makes me feel a little better about it. I haven't bought one yet, but was getting very close. I'm at a stand-still right now trying to weigh pros and cons. Thanks again.
