Tractor
3550 Fard Backhoe and a 1948 Farmall Cub,
My dad is looking for another tractor and my older brother found a 3940 3840, Im not sure of the number Montana with 45 minutes on it. The owner died after buying it and the bank took it back. I was just recently made aware of their troubles. The machine is a shuttle shift tractor with a loader. Its priced at 13 000. We live a mile from a Branson and Mc Cormic dealer and work about 5 miles away from an LS dealer. A friend of my brothers was the dealer for them for a while and sold this tractor.

i think that is a good price. despite the montana troubles. if you weren't so close to an ls dealer i would say wait on this one and let the dust settle. but woth the ls dealer there i'd go for it. the ls branded tractors are supposed to be more expensive also so waiting probably will only drive up the price. i own a 2840 and have only had mino issues.

So this tractor im looking at is a branded LS. The dealer that sold it was a small dealer that takes up any new tractors that come along but he just went to used tractors. The LS dealer is a long time dealer that just got LS but has a service department and all in house. The low hours and loader with a skid steer QA did seem like a good deal.

i am pretty sure the 3840 is an ls built tractor but i could be wrong. the peanut gallery is sure to correct me.

I like mine! That price seems really good - especially with such low hrs. It is LS made (whatever that really means). Mitsubishi diesel, Eaton tranny (at least the HST model).

Sounds great to me. My 2740 does every thing I ask it and more.

Another Montana question Our newLS dealer was telling dad that they had a New lin of Montana come in. The pictures of them they are a darker blue than an LS, And they look more square. I was thinking one looked alot likethe Ford Look alike Farmtrac the Branson man down the road sold.

Those must be montana limited which was the bought out farmtrac products. Great machines, Unbelievable discounts. The "Red Montana limited " tractors are the Kukji or Branson tractors also a very good product but not the same discounts
