First post here. Forgive me if I step in it.

I came to own a nice little Montana R2844HST as part of a real estate deal. Problem is, it is missing the loader bucket. The bucket was apparently detached from the QR and stolen when the property was unoccupied.

I have been looking a little, but now I am seriously needing that bucket. What options do I have? Can't find it in the parts catalog on the Montana site and they aren't answering Emails.

I unfortunately do not know what other brand would be compatible. I do know that it seems to be fairly pricey for a replacement. And shipping from everythingattachments.com seems a little messy to Coldspring TX.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

I'm pretty sure that unit has SSQA (skid steer quick attach). At least all on their site appeared to be... If so any SSQA bucket should work.

If it is a SSQA attached bucket, look at Bob Cat. Bob Cat used to have some very competitive pricing on SSQA attachments.

If it is SSQA, we can ship one of these Construction Attachments compact tractor buckets to a commercial business in your town or to a freight terminal in Houston for $45.00. Shipping to your house would be $125 as long as your place is accessible to a 53' semi and you will offload.

Montana = LS=New Holland Boomer. LS now has distributors in the US. But any SSQA bucket that was suitably sized would work. Kubota, Kioti, Bobcat, or others. But your Montana was made by LS.

OR.. how handy are you with a welder?.. You can get a suitably sized pin on bucket for pretty much scrap price from your larger dealers. They should have a back lot with several to choose from..At least the Kubota dealers around here do. They are take off's from when people convert their pin on to SSQA. After they realize the benefits of SSQA.. Like I did, AFTER you buy the tractor with a Pin on bucket. Then you get yourself a SSQA plate and go to town heating and a beating and welding. The end result is you wind up with an SSQA bucket for about $250 and some of your time. You can read about it here. It sounds like a lot of work at first, but I would not hesitate to do it again, as I am more experienced now.

I guess I'll have to show my noobie-ness. I have seen a lot of discussion about Montana models being built by "LS". Who is LS?

Just wanted to post an update for my original post. Spoke with Travis at EverythingAttachments and ordered my new bucket. Picked it up at FedEx last night and attached it to my tractor.

YES, I can confirm the Montana R2844HST loader quick release is a SSQA and it worked like a charm.

NOTE: the bucket had a nice little label reminding me that it was made in the USA. The tractor ... well, at least it's not from China.

Now I am looking seriously at their box blade. Looks better than the import from Tractor supply and only a few dollars more. Aside form the freight pickup hassle, the experience was great.

Thanks again Travis!

As am I! I bought a set of Construction Attachments pallet forks from EA. I thought they might be handy to have available - and - they are on the tractor far more often than the bucket is! Easy as can be to swap back and forth. I am incredibly pleased with the forks and the folks at EA. Greg
