John Deere 990 MFWD and a few others
A couple days ago I tried to hook up the 430 loader to my 990 once again and the latch plate would not go over the front weight bracket. Just like last time it is about a half an inch below. Last time I got the thing to adjust properly by loosing the 4 bolts in the front of the loader and using a floor jack then retighting them but this almost worked but now I am about 1/8 inch or less below the top of the weight bracket. I may jack it up more and try it again but I don't get why it worked and now it does not. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I had a difficult time putting the 420 FEL on my 4210 last month, after retracting the lift cylinders and elevating the front wheels the lock plate would not fit properly into the front weight bracket. Both tractor and loader were quite level but I was parked near a wall and couldn't see the left side mast very well -- and the notch at the bottom of the mast wasn't lined up with the tab on the mounting frame. I wasted twenty minutes trying to lever the bucket to get the lock plate up the last inch or so...and FINALLY thought about taking a close look at the left side mounting frame. I thought if one notch and tab was in place properly the other one probably was.
