Any info you can give me about the L295DT. I found one for what I think is a good price $4800. Is that a good price? Is this a good machine aside from the fact that its a Kubota :D How much does it weigh? How does this compare to the B7100? Can someone post comparison image maybe with someone standing next to the tractor or something? I just cant really tell the size of it in the pictures that i have. Here are a couple pictures of it.

Thanks

ToughAsStihl:

Welcome tp TBN :D! According to TractorData the L295DT is a MFWD with 30 HP gross and 26 HP PTO. It has a live rear PTO. It has 5.00-15 R-1's front and 12.4-24 R-1's rear. It weighs in at 2304 pounds. Those specs would make it larger and more powerful than a B7100 and a B7800. If it has low hours and was well maintained it would be a bargain :). Jay

Hard to tell a lot from the pictures - but the odd painting here and there makes me wonder what kind of life it has had. The rear gear housings would have been grey-blue originally, and the rest of the body work would be orange. The final drives are formed steel (not cast iron) so I'd be looking for evidence of a weld repair. Same for the black patch on the front loader arm. These are good tractors (had a L345DT) - but are just a bit under-powered for their size. The "live pto" means it has a 2-stage clutch. Check to see that pto shaft can be held stopped with engine running, pto lever in either H or L, and clutch pedal pushed all the way down. The 2 stages are NOT separately adjustable on these so if the travel clutch is worn, the pto may not disengage. If it doesn't, the travel clutch could need replacing - which would affect the value. From the pics, the price seems maybe on the high side. As always, prompt cheerful refund if info is bogus. Take care, Dick B

P.S. Kubota still offers a ROPS for this model I think - cheap safety feature.

Well I sent him a message (craigslist) and asked him about the hours, paint and maintenance.

I got back some answers. The hour meter stopped at 1600, the black is the primer where the orange has flaked off (sounds iffy) the fluids and filters were changed every spring and checked periodically. But sadly the person I sugar with is out of town so hopefully he will be back before this sells.

With a handle like that I'm amazed you aren't looking for a Stihl tractor! When a tractor is thirty years old they often have had some touch up no matter how good of condition the owner kept it. If he knew when the tach stopped working that would help you to figure about how many hours a year he used it and help you get closer to the actual hours. Depending on that, when oil changes were done at what intervals the maintence was performed.
The price for it is within reason given that it had the servicing done periodically. Check to see how much movement the front axle has fore and aft, free play in the clutch and if there is more adjustment, the brakes!!!

If the hood was replaced with a new one it might have been black and the installer's paint job didn't stick? Anyway the paint doesn't matter except in what it's attempting to cover up.
The cable for the hourmeter lasts about 800 hours on these - so maybe it's been through a couple.
The brakes are wet type - last forever.
