JD2210
My JD2210 and I are getting along fine. I just received my tractor manual today in the mail. The dealer failed to bring it when the tractor was delivered. I was checking tire pressures tonight. The book spec's fronts at 22psi and rears at 12psi. All four cold tires were at 20psi. Any reason to let air out of the rears? Should I be concerned? Will I wear anything down or break anything with the higher pressures? Yea, I know, dumb questions but this tractor thing is very new to me. My first diesel engine.

And the sales dude mentioned before delivery that I should change the engine oil and filter at about 10 hours to clear out manufacturing debris. The manaul says first oil and filter change at 50 hours. What do the experts have to say? Any harm in changing the oil early? Is there 'special' oil in the engine when it's delivered?

Thanks for your patience.....

The front PSI should be 4# more if you have a FEL. I keep mine at 28 as they are not the stoutist tire that ever was. The rears say 20 psi on the tire ant I usually run about 18. I would DEFINATELY NOT change the oil at 10 hours. The engine does come with a break in oil. The first scheduled maintenance is 50 hous. At that point you need to change your oil, oil filter. hydraulic fluid, filter and clean the trans screens. The recommended JD oil is a synthetic blend. I would strongly advise a LOT of caution any time some one tells you to do something contrary to the owners manual in regards to service while it is under warranty. Dave

I agree with Dave. Wait till the 50. I went to JD and bought all their oil and hyd fluid. Sure do not want to mess with any possible warranty issues!
I am sure there are oils that are okay to run, but, this way there are no questions.

If you do have a FEL, be careful of the tire pressure. I have R4 tires and ruined one with under inflation. When I called the teck line I was told that the R4 front tires should be inflated to 35 pounds. I was running them at 26 to 28 pounds.

I know the 2210 manual says 22 psi. The Fel manual says add 4 #. I dont think thats enough. I keep mine at 28-30. Less than that and it looks like I've got a flat with a load. Dave

I don't think I have that much in my R1's. Maybe they are different. Maybe I guess I ought to read the manual eh?

Thanks for the info. I guess I have to add some air to the fronts. And what's this about a tech line.... Is this a JD support thing?

Thanks,

wickman

Also if you need to add oil to your 2210 use JD break in oil. Thats what came in there from the factory and nothing else will be compatible with it. There is a tech line but they told me to talk to the dealer but I work at the dealer and they did not know so I just bought a tech manual and that told me that HY-GARD and HY-GARD Low Vis are compatible.
