I have been looking at getting a new Gooseneck. I kinda like the Moritz 20-5 with the adjustable dove tail. Seems to be at good price point on the used market. The 14500 gvw fits perfect with my F350 11500 gvw !

What I can't find is any really good reviews on it. If any one has one on here I would be grateful for any info you can give me.

I was interested in a Moritz dump trailer. The only information I found was from old forum posts (how I heard of the company, to begin with). I called them and the guy was nice, but didn’t seem interested in selling me a trailer. When I told him where I lived, he asked why I couldn’t just get one here. His dealer network sucks. If you’re close to him, it does look like a good trailer.

Moritz trailers are built about an hour north of me in Mansfield. They make a really good trailer from everyone I've talked to that has one. I've been looking for a 14k trailer lately, and went to a dealer that had both Diamond C and Moritz. They both were priced about the same but the Mortiz had torsion axles vs spring axles on the Diamond C. I talked to our local trailer repair guy and he said to stay away from torsion axles. He said they cost about $400 a piece to rebuild, and they will wear out over time. If the trailer doesn't have torsion axles then I'd consider buying one.

I was concerned about buying a used trailer with the torsion axles. Mine will sit more than it will get used.

I just want one for when i need it. All my buddies have dump trailers so I can borrow one if needed. Plan is to sell my 14x7 dump and have a deck over for when the need arises in our group.

The thing that draws me to the 20-5 Moritz is the adjustable dove tail. I have not seen that in other brands except for the 10ft hydro dove which is more than I want to spend on a trailer.

I guess if i can get one cheap enough and bake in the new axles I might be ok

Their web site shows trailers with spring axles too. I'm sure you can order one with spring axles if you are looking at buying a new one.

Torsion axles have little flex. When you go over a speed bump, curb, etc it can leave all the weight on one axle and tire. Bent axles on one trailor required replacement. Hard on rims also. Not a good idea if your off smooth terrain or pavement.
Have two trailors with torsion axles. They provide a nice smooth ride. Bought a dump trailor recently and was VERY careful to get leaf springs on it.
I bet you will have a option for either system.

I concur. Have some torsion axles on single axle campers & they work great. I made sure I had leafs on my flat deck though. They will equalize between axles a fair bit & not overload an individual axle.
