I have a mid '60's Mosrite Celebrity f-hole acoustic/electric guitar(Gibson ES335 style). Unfortunately, the lead pickup on it is dead.

There must be some guitarists here :D besides Google and Ebay, where is a good place to look for vintage pickups?

The guitar plays exceptionally well, but that lower pickup is dead. Pulled it out a while back; I ohmed it out, it appears to open somewhere in the case or windings.

I could get aftermarket replacements, but would like to keep it original.

Maybe Soundguy will chime in, I think he can probably help (no surprise there):D

Why not have somebody rewind it?

Try Pete Biltoff at vintagevibeguitars.com

If he doesn't have a replacement, he can probably fix yours.

Got an email off to him. He can rewind for about $75! But, my pickup appears to be encapsulated in epoxy. Might have to get a new one... Pete can build a new pickup, and cast a housing to match the old one for about $125 though.

Pondering...

Thanks for the lead
