My father in law is buying a new LA115 to mow there 1.25 acres in CT. They have had a 1985 Craftsman 42" lawn tractor for all these years that the B&S JUST gave-up. Anyone have over 500 hours on a 100 series yet?
With frequent service and lots of grease, it would be possible. I've seen an L110 with over 900 hours before. The customer was in the store buying a complete deck for it. We tried to convince them to put the money down on a new mower, but they opted for the deck. Several hundred dollars.
I have 331.2 hours om my L118. It still is running strong and the deck is in almost new condition. Only problems ive had was wore out steering gears and ball joints. Also, the battery terminals needed to be cleaned and a mower bearing had to be replaced. I try to service it every 20 or so hours.
GOOD TO HEAR MY FATHER IN LAW WANTS ONE However the TWO HE BROUGHT HOME FORM LOWE'S WOULD NOT GO INTO REVERSE!!! I KEEP TELLING HIM TO GO TO the dealer instead!!
FINALLY went to dealer and for a $45 deliver charge they will set-it up perfectly and show him and my Mother-in-law how to use it.
They should have lisstened in teh first place, instead of wasting a weekend!
