Case-IH Farmall 45A, Kubota M8540 Narrow, New Holland TN 65, Bobcat 331, Ford 1920, 1952 John Deere M, Allis Chalmers B, Bombardier Traxter XT, Massey Harris 81RC and a John Deere 3300 combine, Cub Cadet GT1554
I was just wondering what the most hours anyone has seen on a compact tractor? I just came back from an auction and there was a New Holland 1925 out in their back junk pile. The reason I noticed it was how rough it looked. The thing has had the crap beat out of it. The hood was smashed, the side panels were gone, the rear rims were rusted out, the entire rear end of the tractor was rusted to the point it almost looked like a tractor from the 50's. Checked the hour meter and couldn't believe my eyes. It had 4,995 hours and that was assuming the hour meter still worked when they finally parked this thing. I didn't have my camera otherwise I would have taken a picture. If I am back out that way I will but I was surprised as were some other people who came over to look at it. Which brings the question, what is the most hours you have actually saw on a Compact tractor of any brand?

The most I've seen on a CUT was an older Deere 855 used by a landscaping business. The hourmeter read over 2200.

Considering the use, the tractor was in reasonably good condition...some dents and rust, but pretty good otherwise.
Supposably, it ran great....did start nicely and idled smoothly.
Saw this machine at my local dealer when I was picking up parts for my 670.

One of the mechanics there was telling me about a 755 with over 3000 hours that was still a solid tractor. Again, a late 80's machine. This one was privately owned by the same person since new.

Are compact tractor clocks counting different than ag tractor clocks ??

Many contractors run those 3000 hours within two years...

That gives me a good feeling! My 755, owned from new since 1988, has about 1300 hours on it. It has a lot of life in it but I'm still looking to trade up to the 4310.

We have a Kubota L2850GST that has over 20,000 hrs on it and the only major repairs were one clutch and that was only because the stupid inmate continually rode the clutch despite numerous warnings about it. The first 13 yrs our prison was open it ran a minimum of 8 hrs a day almost every day. The inmate who drove it and took care of it was an old con in his 60's and treated it as if he had bought it. Poor old guy finally died and the tractor has suffered since. Incredible but true< it's the main reason I've purchased two Kubota's

Wow pretty impressive, what type of work does that machine do?Any chance a person could ever get a pic would be cool to see with that many hours.

Used it to pull garbage dumpsters and help mow the facility grounds with a 7 unit gang mower and 6ft 3pt finish mower. Wish I could get pictures but cameras are a major no-no in a prison!! We did repaint it last year( spray bomb) and it came out better than expected. It's an amazing tractor, we have a Ford 3430 and an older Ford 1920 and niether one is aging near as well as the Kubota. 3430 has about 5000hrs and 1920 is unknown as the tach/hourmeter died many years ago!! By the way the Kubota is a 1986 and is the oldest of all.

if it shows 20,000 on the meter it must actually have more hours on it, boy i wish i could see my b2400 meter hit 10,000 then i would know i have a long time on this earth /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The meter goes to 9999 and has turned over twice. If I recall it reads around 4000 now so it really has 24000 hrs. It's starting to blow a little blue smke these days but still very strong. Best starting tractor we have, hot or cold. I will admit that it has always been stored indoors in a heated shop and that will add to the longevity of any machine, but even if it sits outside for a few hours in the winter it always starts on the first or second revolution of motor!!
