Wow, I've just spent a frustrating hour trying to get the snowblower mounted to the tractor. Its my first time mounting the blower and in my usual fashion, i decided to wait until after the first snowfall to try it ( you know, when its nice and cold outside as well ).

Anyhow, i have the quick hitch mounted to my gc2410. I slid the 2360 as far as i can onto the quick hitch ( both sides of the female end are butted up against the quick hitch ). When i try and move the locking lever forward, i only get it about half way and it will not move any further.

Any idea what i might be missing? I'm coming close to using a sledge hammer for some fine adjustment, but thought i would check first.

Thanks.

Welcome to TBN. I would start over and look inside the female part on the snowblower with a flashlight to see if anything is jammed inside. Also I have to wiggle my snowblower and make sure it is raised up off the ground, then I lift up on the snowblower while turning the lock for the quick hitch, :confused2:. Wish you luck,. KC :D :D :D

Thanks for the response,

I took a closer look at things lastnight and noticed that the problem was with the quick hitch itself. Looks like when the wedge shaped male adapter peice was being manufacturered, a peice wasn't placed into a jig properly. One side of the wedge sticks up about a quarter inch higher than the other side causing the blower not to slide onto the plate level. That was enough to cause the locking mechanism to bind on the insinde of the slot it reaches through.

I took the quick hitch to the dealer this morning and they confirmed that was likey the cause of the problem. They have replaced the wedge shaped peice and i will pick it up later today.

Now, i'm just waiting for a big dump of snow to come down so i can really have some fun with it.

Cheers!

Glad to hear you did not make any adjustments with a sledge hammer,. I hope MF quality control corrects this issue so others do not have to go through the ordeal that you did,. Enjoy your snowblower, looks like another cold and snowy winter,. KC :D :D :D

harrbca-- One other thing you might keep in mind:

After I get the blower partially slid onto the shoe, I use the hydraulics to raise it all the way up; that seems to make it a lot easier to jiggle it in the rest of the way. Don't forget to drop the little folding driveshaft support before sliding them together.

I also keep my blower on a rolling dolly, with a piece of wood under the front edge of the blower. That sets up the angle so it'll slide right on, with the shoe's height set somewhere in the middle.

Hope a new shoe takes care of your problem!
