Hi, today I tried to mount my 430 loader to the 990 today for the first time and could not get the latch plate over the front weight bracket about a quarter of an inch short. Tried everything in the manual. Then I put a jack under the latch plate and then it was almost on the bracket but it would not go on. Anyone have any ideas on what I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

I just put one on my 4310 and had the same problem. did you try to loosen the 4 big bolts(2 on each side? ) on the loader frame? it has quite a bit of adjustment. also put down preasure on the bucket and riase the front off the ground a bit. I ended up adjusting the lock rod a bit more and the smcked the front loader plate with a BFH an a block of wood and it went into place. After that it was easy to get on and off.

Yeah, I loosened the 4 bolts and was playing around with the latch plate rod but I was still short of getting the latch plate over the weight bracket. I did raise the front up with the dump function of the loader. I did put the new weight bracket on and everything. When you loosened the 4 bolts how loose did you have them? I had mine so I could turn the nuts by hand? Thanks.
