Mounting 47\" snowblower on 410 loader arms??????

Has anyone attemped this? As long as the uplift was limited and the need for a longer pto shaft what would be the downside of this idea?

The reason I am thinking of this is I got a blower like this one (which with another 1200 or so dollars spent at the dealer for quick tach brackets ect. would make it have all the qualitys of one bought from the dealer) http://cgi.ebay.com/John-Deere-X465-x475-x485-X495-47-Snowblower-Like-NEW_W0QQitemZ7731362015QQcategoryZ82240QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

The one I got is just like the yellow parts there without the black mounting bracket.

I would like to consider mounting this on the quicktach arms to use it by removing the bucket on the 410 arms and attaching the snowblower--hook up pto and go.

Other than limiting the upward travel what else am I missing with this thought?
Thanks
Dan

P.S. Its tough to spend over a $1000 to mount a $64.00 snowblower!! (was that a gloat?)

$64.00? The auction say alot more than that! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

That seems like a good deal you got. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The front QA brackets for your tractor are alot less than $1000.00 I think, I am sure someone else will chime in soon who know more, but...

While I think it is "possible" to mount the blower on the FEL, I do not think it would be a safe thing to do. Even with limiting the upward movement on the FEL, you will have to limit the curl function also.

If you are handy a fabrication, you could make the QA bracket fit on you tractor, shouldn't be to hard. You may still have to get the proper driveshaft though...

The quick attach brackets are available (slightly used) on this QA Auction

As of this post they are at $50 plus about $70 shipping.

Re: Mounting 47\" snowblower on 410 loader arms??????

Dan,

Definitely go for the proper bracket/set. I think you're going to run into too many issues trying to attach to the loader arms and damage one or both of the shafts, the hydraulic lines (or have to extend them), etc.... I'd pursue the ones Cliff suggested, or just bite the bullet and get the right ones from a dealer. Also, make sure all the hydraulic lines are properly routed, especially so as not to get rubbed or pinched by the right front tire (there's another thread discussing that problem).

BTW; That is one tough blower for 47". Had a ball with mine last night!

You will need more than just brackets - you will also need the driveshaft from the mid PTO. The quick attach on the 4100 includes an intermediate bearing for the front PTO.

I saw that auction before you posted----and I guess now I take back all the names I called you for posting the auction (the fewer that know the better you know) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Now from what I understand with the parts I already have from the 410 loader/hood guard and this all I should need is a driveshaft hookup and I should be set to go.

A snowblower mounted on loader arms would and does work IF a; the blower has its own motor, or b; the blower is hydrostatic.
