Well.. I went for option #2,
Just got back from our local tire dealer and the 8" wheels fit on the machines. One of the young warriors there literally "pushed" the first side over the rim.... and then they used the machines to stretch the second side on. Less than 15 minutes and they were done with both. Amazing when they know what they're doing.
I went to pay & the owner said "Give me $5." I gave him $10. and felt bad a mile down the road I didn't give him $20.
I'd be struggling all weekend.

I mounted a new 12.4 x 36 tire on a new rim yesterday for my 1941 MM. Wasn't too hard at all. I layed it on the ground on plywood. I don't think I could have done it on the tractor. Had air in it by lunchtime.
