Mounting the DL100 Loader on GC2400

Hello-

I just bought a used loader for my GC2400 which has the factory joystick. Got the loader all mounted up with the joystick still mounted on the factory joystick mount. Now the cover won't go back on the joystick. Could someone confirm that the joystick stays on the factory mount and somehow does not move over to the loader bracket.
