Well I finally did something about it. I never did like the idea that I had to dismount my tractor seat, jump off said tractor into who knows what(or worse yet, tread over the chain laden rear tire), then jump onto another smaller less comfortable seat, to sit about 16" away from active 2500 psi hydraulic driven steel, while being bounced about acutely at all sorts of given angles, to have to jump back off and remount said tractor seat in order to move less than three feet...to do it again.
solution? brought offending tractor controls to rear of main seat through bracket reconstruction and careful hydraulic hose routing and extension. Result? absolutely marvelous. Best thing since sliced tractor bread...Quick summary of advantages. 1) No abrupt jostling as backhoe seat on sub-frame jumps and bumps through its paces. No, while positioned on my seat it is as if playing a video game...no bounce jump or shock loads....2) No acrobatics to take my seat; nothing more than a slight 180 pivot in my seat, a comfortable fully padded kneel with an ever so light resting of the buttocks on my padded steering wheel...no problema... 3) Quick and agile switching to reposition tractor.
My only reservation? I wish I had done this last year.
