Been posting on another John Deere site for years until I was told to leave...must be my IQ is way out of range. Anyway, glad to be here and share some knowledge and "how to's" with you all.

I have a 1999 JD345 with 756 hours and in it's original condition, with the exception of the gas filter. You know, that little plastic thing that John Deere pays about $.22 for and you pay about $4.60 when you want to replace it. Well! I have a solution that will stop all that, and will save you some (pain and suffering...time and money wise) filter replacements.
Here is a picture of my JD345.

Now back to the gas filter matter. You will notice that I have a fas filter like most others as seen in this photo.

But have you seen one of these on a JD 345? This a gas water separator filter system that I installed 2 years ago, and still clean today. All I have to do is unscrew the plastic clear housing and remove any water and debris. No need to buy another filter. If you like more information how and where to get one of these, reply.

Hey there, welcome to TBN

Very interesting solution you have there. That looks similar to the one on my Kubota, is it oem Deere or aftermarket?
