I have a well used Agri-fab mow-n-vac with a relatively new motor, one blade of the impeller flew off last fall... that was the end of fall clean-up for me. So now it is time to replace the impeller. I am researching to possibility of putting in a chip-n-vac impeller. Branches up to 2". First question; if you have a chip-n-vac, does it preform satisfactory? Will it chip branches that a dead branch or only green branches?

It appears that there are two different kind of impeller for the chip-n-vac, one has two knife blades on the back of the impeller; the other has six vanes, three of which have flail blades. Anyone have experience with what style works better?

I can customize my impeller housing for the two knife model, but would need a new housing for the flail blades.

Thanks

Just mow the lawn and leave the clippings lay and don't waste your time on bagging and old 2" chippers, is my advice.
