Last Friday I had a belt break on my mower deck. The dealer had to order one in and I had to wait till late Tuesday afternoon to receive it. When I tried to install it this morning it was the wrong belt and too long for my mower. It was #TCU29454 and I measured it to be 178 inches in length. I measured the broken belt and it was 165 inches in length. The dealer didn't believe me when I called and told them it didn't fit and were sure I had installed it wrong, and the length difference because a piece was missing from my broken belt (even though I told them the two broken ends fit together perfectly). In the afternoon they sent a service man out to install it properly, however, he also brought another belt with him! He agreed what I had was too long, and installed the new belt he brought with him. I will go in tomorrow and get the proper paperwork and belt number for the installed belt for future reference. I will also post the number when I get it. Hopefully this post will be helpful to anyone else who may have a Z720A with a 54" deck. It isn't much fun being down that length of time when mowing commercially.

Not good. You would think a dealer would get it correct - but, I guess we are all human. I had a belt break on my Gravely and the dealer actually had one in stock I was back running within 2 hours. LOts of luck involved but it made me happy. Now I keep 1 belt as a spare. Good luck.

The belt the dealer put on is # TCU29453. It isn't a big job changing the belt and could likely be done in 30 minutes or less if it had of been the proper belt.

I keep spare belts, cause they aways seem to break on a week-end, when the dealer is closed.
Now that you know the correct # for the belt, I would suggest you get a spare as well, to keep on hand.

We have always heard two wrongs don't make a right. Here is the story on my belt. I went in asking for a belt for a Z720A with a 54" deck. There is no such thing! I had the wrong number and mine is a Z710A with a 54" deck. They sold me a belt for a Z720A, which has a 60" deck. This explains why it didn't fit. I had the wrong model number and they had the wrong deck size!
