I am a new owner of a BX25. I am very happy with the Tractor and I am getting better about removing and reinstalling the Loader and Backhoe. I also have the MMM deck. Does anyone know why the mower deck will not stay locked in the top position. It drops down about 6 inches when I use the 3 point hitch.

Are you sure you are in top and not in 4? When mine is in top it does drop maybe an inch or so but that is because you need clearance underneath so you can get it to go into the top setting. There is a dial under the tractor and it looks like a circular ladder, if it doesn't have that play then when you turn the dial it will just not go any further because the next stair will hit on the link arm and won't go under it

On my 7510 I pin the deck up unless I need a lot of ground clearance. Then I take the deck off. (UGH)

Agree with newdeal; doesn't sound as though you are actually getting TOP engaged. There are threads on here about adjusting your deck and addressing this issue. When in TOP, your deck will only go down about one inch as reported.

I agree with other posters- be sure you raise 3 pt and deck up all the way before turning the knob for top position. line up top to the black sticker arrow on your BX. once you do this, the next time you drop 3pt, deck will not move.

The sticker might be mis-aligned. (mine is one notch off) Try gradually raising the deck and turning the knob until you can determine the highest spot.
With the deck all the way up, you should be able to rotate the knob all the way around. If the knob won't go around, you're peobably not getting to "TOP" and will need to make adjustments.

Thanks for all the information. The problem was fixed today by the dealer. The mower cutting dial has a gear attached to the underside of it (that looks like a circular staircase), the top notch on that gear was not machined properly and was hitting the link arm and would not go far enough to engage the top position. The deck only drops down about 1/2 inch now. The dealer also found another new BX25 with the same problem in his yard. If any one has a deck that drops more than a little bit this may be the problem.

ThT problem has noting to do with machining there is a bolt to adjust on the back of the link arm that adjusts e clearance on the staircase it was misadjusted

Thanks for the information. I asked the dealer about that adjustment before he installed the new (machined down) part and he said it had nothing to do with the problem. Looks like I need to find a new place for service.
