Hi Guys
mower deck work fine but I can stop it working when rear pto is engaged, which is fine if im just mowing and using the mid pto but if I want to solely use the rear pto to run my wood processor I select rear pto only and the mid pto (mower deck) continues to run which is a tad dangerous and also a waste of engine power! any idea whats broken or needs adjusting please?

Usually tractors with mid and rear PTO have a 3 position PTO lever, one position for the mid PTO only, one for rear PTO only and another one for both mid and rear PTO. Are you getting the lever in the right spot?

Here is a picture from the service manual showing the 3 positions.

Hi yes Definitely got it in the mid position the lever has 3 positions and it's furthest forward. Is only access to selector fork by removing side plate?

Actually looks like you can get to it from top?

The forward position is for the mid PTO only. The middle position actuates both mid and rear PTO at the same time. And the rear position actuates the rear PTO only.

I believe you want the rear position.

Sorry I was being a bit stupid there!

I meant when the lever is rear pto only the mowerdeck is rotating also. It's not possible to have the mower deck not engaged and working when just the rear pto Is working

Here is the service manual for your tractor: T233HST T273HST Service Manual | Tractor | Radiator

How does the lever feel when you put it in the Rear PTO only? Do you feel it engaging on something or free moving? You might be into something about the fork, however I don't think it is as easy as pulling a side panel to have access. I'm not familiar with your tractor though, I've just been studying the service manual.

Looks like you can access it by removing the whole rear linkage lift cylinder assembly. It will give you a lot more room to work.

It feels tight, doesn't always want to go in..you can feel it engage but just doesnt seem to stop the mid deck working
