Mower Deck questions

I disagree about the chains being better...JMO...
even arms...
the cut on my Ford 1220, where the deck rides on the 5" wheels at each corner of the deck, is nicer than my Kubota 326 ZTR, which has a hung deck...

The most important benefit of a chain hung deck is they can take an impact much better than one held up with components if you ever hit something hard... the chains allow the deck to move (give) a little whereas the ones held up by brackets or what have you don't move...They bend...NEVER BUY A ZERO TURN MOWER WITHOUT A CHAIN HUNG DECK

I'm with you on that....chain-hung deck = durable, easy to level and more professional/level cut. The OP(user firstbase) hasn't posted since June......I hope if he bought a ZTR he got one with the chain-hung deck. The other comparisons in this thread to the large tractors with mid-mount belly decks not being chain-hung is IMHO irrelevant when compared to the ZTR design.
