I spent some time adjusting my 54" mid-mount mower deck and it cuts very well. However, there is one issue that I can't figure out.
The blade height is 1/2" higher than the setting on the adjustment knob. I verified this using one of those incredibly useful John Deer gauges.
According to the JD gauge the front tip of the blade is about 1/4" lower than the rear tip of the same blade, as it should be.
Tire pressures are spot on. Made all the adjustments on smooth, even concrete. It's not a huge problem...I simply set the blade height adjustment knob 1/2" lower than the desired cut height, so to cut at 3", which I like, I set the knob at 2.5"
Still, it's something I would like to sort out. Any suggestions?

What's a half inch between friends?? I think you're splitting hairs, personally but more power to you to figure it out!

The knob makes adjustments in half inch increments. Total adjustment is 4", which equals 8 increments. Translated to a car spedometer, that would be like doing 30 with the speedometer reading 25.

Well, on one hand it sounds like this is really minor compared to the issues most people have. However, is there adjustment left on the deck mounting? You should have an adjustable mount on each side of the deck that you use independently to level the deck side to side. If you lower each of those 1/2" you should be right on. Of course, you might have to adjust the front to back level after you do this.

Disclaimer: I'm a JD guy and I've never looked at a Kubota deck mount, so I could be way off base on this. :confused3:

I adjusted the 2 bolts that are used for the side to side adjustment to raise the deck to match the cutting height.
