Rotary Cutter mower seal 80 40 10 and should I put grease in the gear box

Seal is leaking from the shaft on the gear box. the seal is 80 40 10, cant seem to find one online. Also I have read from past posts that putting grease in the gear box is one way to fix the leak, but they didn't say what kind of grease.

Also whats the best grease to use on the spindle bearings.

The thinnest grease you can get an there & not leak out. I used a pourable grease & some 90wt gear oil in my flail mower gearbox. Others use whatever is in their grease gun.

Oil would be better, but I bet 95% of the time grease won't shorten the lifespan of an old gearbox in the long run.

We use a flow able grease that is called double aught or 00 grease. I think tractor supply carries it. It comes in a squeezable quart bottle like 90 wt oil.
