Let me first set the ground rules. My property is on a flood plane. After the water goes down the grass is 5 ft tall. Yes that is my tractor in the picture. I have a brush hog that I have been using for years but I was wondering if there is a mower that will cut the tall grass but also follow the conture of the track on the hill? Right now I have to keep moving the hight adjust on the brush hog and it just gets to be annoying. Set the right height then go over a jump and the brush hog is now 3ft off of the ground. By the way we grow rocks. Clean up the rocks and a week later there back. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Can you live with grass 8"-10" on jumps,6" to 8" on remainder of trail? Can you fabricate and weld?

Perhaps a flail mower would handle this situation somewhat better.

Fabricate yes weld no. Bolt things together.. due to medical issues I now use a UTV on the track

Two ideas, not sure how well either will work for you but here goes,
First, try mowing both directions. That is clockwise, then counter-clockwise. Where the mower lifted on the first pass it should be lower on the second pass.
Second, do you need to mow it? If you're just trying to keep the trail clear for riding a tow-behind roller or even a drag harrow might flatten the grass enough.

Let me give you more information. The previous owner put the track in for his kids. My property has an underground river which is also the county water supply so the grass out there always grows without watering. I have been mowing this property for 15 years. First with a push mower and weedeater. It took over a day to mow it. I've been using the tractor and brush hog for 8 years. Yes I mow in both directions it's just having to keep adjusting the mower that is getting to be a bother. Also seems that I am having issues with the hydraulic. Yes replaced fluid and filter. Just adjusting it more that previous. Yes I gave it a thought to rent a dozer and level it. I enjoy riding on it. Puts a smile on my face.
Just wondering if there was a device that would track the ground better.

Some rotary mowers can pivot at the front which allows the rear end to travel up and down with the terrain. Usually there's a pivot link in the stays that hold up the rear of the mower to allow this. My Kodiak mower has this. You can simulate it by using a chain instead of a top link. You then adjust the link/chain so when the 3pt is lifted the mower droops down in the back some. When the 3pt is lowered for mowing the tail wheel will hit the ground and the mower deck will level out. This allows the deck to follow the terrain, at least to some extent. Maybe not 3' drops though.
