Several, all used and abused.
Last year I bought a 12 foot batwing, and it's been a huge game changer for me. I used to mow with a 6 foot cutter and I barely mowed my entire place in a year, now I'm doing it all in just a few days. My pond used to take me three days. Not fully days, just the way I broke it down into what I would try to squeeze in each day. I would do an area, then another area, and finally the last area with my 6 foot cutter. Sometimes I would get stuck, and that would pretty much end that day of mowing.

Now I'm doing it all in just a few hours, and I'm enjoying myself. I'm also in a cab now, and the AC has been a huge improvement. I usually mow when it's too hot to do stuff around the house or a project on the land. Instead of killing myself, I look forward to getting in the cab and mowing with my batwing!!!

Sounds like an awesome setup.

Eddie, I had the same good results, we bought a 10' bush hog mower and its cut my mowing time down by hours.

Eddie, you’re getting close to the water! I can see the wing wheel in the water a little!

That's a real nice setup - Eddie. From my single experience in Texas ( Houston in July ) - I could understand how a cab and AC would be a requirement. AND a 12 V cooler full of your favorite beverage. Thankfully - around here when it gets really hot - the humidity drops to near zero.

I will post, here, a picture of my ten acre pond. It's 80 feet deep and those basaltic lava cliffs are from 20 to 40 feet high. This pond is just like a BIG bath tub. The water comes right up to the cliff and is 40 feet deep at the cliff edge. The cliffs are the same on the North and South sides of the lake. The West and East ends taper to a "normal" shore line thru the cattails.

I do not mow around the pond. I have a standing rule here on my 80 acres. NO motorized vehicle - of any type - within 50 feet of the cliff edge. My greatest fear - fuel and oil contamination of my pond should a motorized vehicle go into it. It's never happened and I'm going to be sure it never does.

That's great to hear that upgrading to a 12-foot batwing mower has made such a positive difference for you! It sounds like it has significantly increased your productivity and efficiency in maintaining your property. The larger cutting width allows you to cover more ground in less time, and having a comfortable cab with AC makes the mowing experience much more enjoyable, especially during hot weather. Mowing can be a demanding task, especially on larger properties, so having the right equipment and a comfortable working environment can make a significant difference. It's wonderful that you now look forward to mowing with your batwing and find it enjoyable. Remember to follow safety guidelines and maintenance procedures to keep your equipment in good working condition and ensure safe operation. Enjoy your time in the cab and the satisfaction of maintaining your property efficiently!

Yeh, I got a pond I mow around too. The biggest issue for me are the muskrat burrows, I've dumped my mower into those a couple times.

For a couple years I had both beavers and muskrats. Then the muskrats "went away". I wonder if the beavers had anything to do with this.

Whatever - the beavers do a magnificent job of maintaining the low dam at the far end of my lake. It helps keep the water level at a constant height.

I use to have a ditch between my property and my neighbors and I would use a sickle mower to cut both sides at one time but when I moved my dad got it and started using it to cut around his pond said worked good.
