Mowing Already

It may be a new record.

First drought.

The rain.

Then a warm spell (75 F today).

I had to get the mower out today and start mowing. Of course, most of it was winter rye, clover and weeds, but I still had to mow it.

Luckily we have had a couple of dry days between the rain.

Yeah I got the shredder out and knocked down those big yellow flowers out in the pasture,cple weekend ago..

We are predicted to get a half foot of snow on Monday and Tuesday. More than we have had all year put together.

Yesterday afternoon when I fed the horses their hay, they nibbled at it a bit and then went back to grazing. Apparently there is enough fresh grass coming up to keep them satisfied. And this is Ohio, not Texas!

Yep, I mowed our yard on January 23, then both ours and one next door (north side of us) on February 2, and ours needs mowing again already. And in spite of it being pretty cool Sunday, the neighbor on the south side of us was out there, all bundled up, mowing his yard.

I am in Michigan and I had some raspberry leaves come out last week.

I was considering mowing yesterday, it's either mow, or try to dig up the few spots of rye in the yard. Some of my St. Augustine is still green in places that have been protected by leaves!

Wow! Here in Scotland I don't have to get my Lawn Mower out until about June at the earliest.
